The sounds themselves I really did not like. Also the drums where a little wack. The melody I also found a little strange. And the cymbal at the end is a little out of place I think. But from what I hear a lot of the problem is the program your using sounds old and out of date, you'd do a lot better with something like FL Studio or any other newer program with better sounds.

CallmeFazbear responds:

I am using FL Studio 12...

Not sure the bass felt quite right for the song, but I definitely liked this! Got a little bit repetitive, but not enough that it really bugged me, so that was fine. I like the sounds. Theres also about 20 seconds of dead silence at the end which could be annoying in a play list, but besides that good.

Jakki responds:

How in the hell I somehow always end up accidentally leaving silence in the end although I always check carefully?! Gonna fix that.

Anyways thanks bram, much appreciated :3

Did not sound overly great to me. Was a bit too random with the note hitting at some points. Felt a little bland, like someone going on a piano for the first time and hitting random keys one at a time. Perhaps experiments with other sounds would help. And the development of a more distinguishable pattern in the melody.

3Delta responds:

Actually this was an experimental song, and I can clearly see it did NOT work. I just couldn't get the hang of chromatism quite right. Thanks for the review anyway

Could use a slightly smoother intro, trust me, everyone forgets sometimes, don't worry. As for the body of the song, thought it was entertaining. Had diversity in it throughout, so that was good. Cant say I like the sounds themselves that much, but the melody is good. I love the diversity, also slightly smoother outro would be good. Very nice besides that.

Aecis responds:

Thank you for a great review. I felt like my previous submission of this did not have enough diversity so I tried my best to make different parts of the song feel different. Although I am really happy the way it is, remixes and chipstep are new to me. I will learn much quicker from comments like yours. Thank you

At 00:56 that was a bad cut, not sure what exactly happened there but it is not a smooth transition. The whole thing is not overall pleasing to my ears. And the bell stuff around 1:50 I find a little weird, You do bring in other things around it eventually that make it sound good but that takes too long imo. 2:50 I found interesting enough.

bj007pro responds:

I am really glad you reviewed my track! I am very appreciating the this feedback!
(Because you're the second one, thanks again!)

I'll see out why that happened at 0:56 it didn't happen during recording. (The program I use makes you listen to your track while it exports. - It let's you edit while it records too, which I like.)

And you also say I should've added more tracks earlier on. I'll take that in consideration. :)

Sounded good, no clashing notes. Solid beat. Lacked some diversity throughout the whole song though. Caught the loop at 1:32, not quite quite smooth, could touch that up. Got quite repetitive same melody again and again and again. But good besides that

larrynachos responds:

Thanks for the honest review! Glad it satisfied you :D

Cool sounds, interesting little melody at the beginning of the track. Sounds way too slurred at 00:24 despite such a good start. I think the pickup on that synth sound thing is way to slow for the speed which you are changing it. If you tweaked this a lot you could evolve it into something good, but theres just too much wrong with it right now. I enjoyed the intro though!

octopus58 responds:

Eh it just varies by preference, but I understand why you wouldn't like it. Thanks for the criticism though, very appreciated :)

Wow, sounds really tranquil, sounded quite professional, sounds were balanced with can be a challenge with tracks like these, especially with such diversity, well done.

Grandvision responds:

Thank you. I tried my best, there were lots of variations on the dynamics and play style of the instruments. Did you have a chance to check out the project image screenshot in the description? It shows it in more detail.

I see how the clash of notes with it resolving is suppose to sound nice, but I think it takes it a little too far. Had a unique touch with the voice, but besides that I did not enjoy it.

NovaDrome responds:

what part EXACTLY did you not like? Remember, this was my FIRST SONG using Ableton Live... I'm always looking for constructive criticism!

Intro is a little long, at 1:10 ish when the guitar came in it felt a little overcrowded. Feels like a solid base for something greater, something more to it. Could still use work but has good potential.

mauiboynokaoi responds:

Intro was only 8 bars long. Verses will kick in at around 0:16 and chorus drops at 0:50. And yes I am still thinking about the distorted piano. I could simply remove it, but I'll probably end up replacing it with something else. Still working on the countermelodies, but we'll see where this goes.

I like to make pixel art, other art, and music
